NOTES
All entries must be signed by a Club Official Contestants MUST be registered members of JNZ and graded to a minimum of 5 Kyu prior to Closing Date for Entries, i.e. before 7th July 2011. Members will not be considered to be registered or graded until payment has been received at the JNZ office.
Entrants must be bona fide New Zealand Secondary School Students, Form 3 to Form 8 inclusive Competitors must be under the age of 20 on the 31stday of December 2011( ie 19 years and under).
Minimum grade is 5Kyu.
After 7th July 2011 no further entries will be accepted.
Change of original entry information will be accepted after the Entry Closing Date up until two days before the commencement of the Championships BUT only on payment of the Administration Fee.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
1. CONTEST TIMES: Boys & Girls 4 minutes
2. WEIGH INS: Sunday BOYS & GIRLS Unofficial 7.00 – 8.00 am Competitors may record an official weight from 7:30a.m. OFFICIAL WEIGHIN 8.00 am
3. PROGRAMME: Referees Meeting 8.30am Opening Ceremony 9.00 am Competition commences 9.15 am The sequence of competition will be from heavy to lightweight categories followed by the Open for each division. A timed programme will be advised once entries are finalised. Players are advised to be available in the stadium at least one hour prior to the scheduled time displayed after weigh-in to enable changes to the timetable as required.
4. SPONSORSHIP: (Conditions of Entry) All sponsorship logos from previous Tournaments must be removed from Judogi. Where a sponsor wishes to sponsor an individual player, Club or Team, but it is not a prime sponsor of the Tournament, no such logos may be worn on the Judogi of the competitor. These logos must be limited to: T-shirts, Tracksuits sports bags etc. and must not conflict with the prime JNZ Sponsor/s. The JNZ's definition of "conflict" shall be final. Contact the JNZ National Business Director (09) 948 2201 if you have any queries regarding sponsorship.
5. RULES: The Tournament will be run according to the IJF Contest Rules as modified by JNZ and in accordance with the JNZ Sporting Code. (No armlocks or strangles will be permitted)
6. ENTRY INFORMATION: Where only one or two entries are received for any weight category, the Club Official will be advised. OPEN entries will be allowed on the day from players who have already entered a weight category on payment of an additional entry fee OPEN ENTRIES will close with the Sporting Director one hour (1) before the scheduled start time of the appropriate OPEN.
7. THE “SCHOOL PRINCIPAL PERMISSION” FORM ASKING PERMISSION OF THE SCHOOL FOR THE COMPETITOR’S ENTRY TO BE ON BEHALF OF THE SECONDARY SCHOOL IS MANDATORY IF THE COMPETITOR WISHES TO REPRESENT THEIR SCHOOL. OTHERWISE THE COMPETITOR MAY ONLY REPRESENT THEIR CLUB.
8. ALL ENTRY FORMS MUST BE PROCESSED THROUGH THE JUDO CLUB. NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED FROM INDIVIDUALS OR FROM SCHOOLS.
9. REFUND OF ENTRY FEES: Refund of entry fee may only be authorised by the Sports Director, to whom written (or email) application (stating the reason for the withdrawal) must be made within one (1) month of end of the Event.
10. JUDOGI REGULATIONS: The IJF Contest Rules regarding Judogi size will apply at this tournament. All female competitors are required to wear a PLAIN WHITE T-SHIRT under their Judogi Karate style lightweight judogi’s will not be permitted.
11. WEIGH-IN INFORMATION: An Unofficial weigh-in has been scheduled for the day. Thereafter no tolerance is allowed during the Official weigh-in which will begin at the scheduled time and proceed as follows: a. The Division and Category will be announced. Only the players entered in the category and their Coach or Manager will be allowed in the weigh-in room. b. The player's name will be called and he/she will present him/herself for weigh-in immediately. Any player who has not already recorded a weight and is not available when called by the weigh-in official shall be deleted from the draw and shall forfeit their entry c. For weigh-ins, competitors may wear a maximum of tee shirt, underwear and Judogi trousers but may remove any or all of the clothing before weighing-in.. d. Any administration charges incurred by change of weight category must be paid before the player is entered on a new weight list. After weigh-in, withdrawals from pool or open events will only be accepted from the Coach or Manager. The Tournament Controller may combine any weight Categories where there would otherwise be insufficient entries to contest a category.
12. TYPE OF DRAW Where there are only two players in the category, the winner will be established by the “best of three” bouts. Weight Categories: For 5 or less players: Round Robin For 6 or more players:
An elimination (knock-out) system will be used to produce two finalists. (Gold and silver medallists)
All competitors defeated in the main pool are placed in the second pool where an elimination (knock-out) system will be used to produce two equal Bronze medallists.
13. MEDALS: Medals will be awarded as per the JNZ Sporting Code. Each competitor who has won a medal must be present at the medal presentation and receive the medal personally – any medallist who, without good cause, does not take part in the presentation ceremony, shall forfeit the medal.
