It has been a big year for the Palmerston North Judo Club ending with a fantastic end of year prizegiving event. We had a cracker afternoon with a strong turn-out and a lot of fun and games.

Special thanks goes to all those who have participated, and in particular the coaches and committee who have helped guide the club through the year.

Of special mention, Hironori Matsuo, who has retained is under 60kg National title has recently been selected to represent New Zealand. This is an outstanding effort and highlights some of the strength and talent within our club. We wish him all the best with his representation.

Juniors will be recommencing on the first Tuesday of the year / term proper which is Tuesday, January the 31st 2012. Seniors will start training 2 weeks earlier starting Tuesday 17th January.

Notification of our AGM will be given at the start of the new year.

On behalf of the club administration, I would like to wish the juniors, their parents, and senior members a very merry and safe Christmas. We look forward to exciting time in 2012!

Tomorrow at juniors we are lucky enough to have Wayne Watson from the Wanganui Judo Club visiting. Wayne will be coaching alongside Phillip to provide a fun packed training session. Coming to the end of the year, make sure your children are making the most of the final training sessions, and this one is one not to miss.

Dont forget this Saturday is our end of year BBQ. Starting at 11am, the day will also include Prize Giving and photos so make sure you bring your Gi, and any medals you may have won this year. The club will be supplying snacks and drinks, so please be sure to bring a plate and meat for the event. It may also be a good idea to bring along your own steel utensils so you know you wont have any problems cutting the meat :)

We have some awesome events planned for the day and a fantastic surprise for the juniors as our way of saying thanks for training with us. This year has been an interesting year full of challenges. As we wind down for this year, we are already planning some fantastic classes and events for next year. We look forward to seeing you all at training tomorrow and dont forget to pencil in this weekends BBQ for the family.
